15/52

16 April 2012

A bit of sparkle

A couple of weeks ago we upgraded the light fitting in the master bedroom. It's quite a modern minimal shape but it's covered in big sparkly crystals. I'm in love. It's a little less Mum and Dad's bedroom and a lot more sexy boudoir, which is what I'm aiming for with our master bedroom ;)

Week 15 theme - Minimal
*Is the actual light minimal, hardly, but I feel the shot is :)

P52 Catch up

12 April 2012

Phew I'm exhausted. The last few weeks have been so busy. After twelve months of planning our school fair went off like a frog in a sock on the 30th of March. I was part of the planning committee from the start and the last two weeks leading up to the big day was full on but so worth it in the end. Still waiting on a final profit for the night, but it was so much fun.

There was only a few days break and we had the Easter weekend, which is normally a quiet time in our household, but this year Mr Mess was working AND my big boy turned 9! Unbelieveable, I really don't know where the time has gone.

So anyway, I'm catching up on the last few weeks of my Project 52.

Home Grown
Week 11 theme - Beauty in the everyday details

Fresh flowers from my own garden, what could be more beautiful?

Mumma Bear

Week 12 - Vintage Charm

This teddy bear is as old as I am. Probably not exactly vintage but she's been loved by two generations of my family. I don't know that I ever gave her a name, but my boys call her Mumma Bear because.....she was their mumma's bear. I'm grateful that they take very good care of her. I just hope she'll still be around to be loved by the next generation :)

Little Boy Blue

Week 13 - Get Emotional

My boys love playing video games together. Sometimes though The Dude doesn't deal well with defeat.

Guess...

Week 14 theme - Just Guess

Can you guess what's hiding behind the bokeh blur?

Hope you all had a safe and happy Easter break.

P52 Week 10

12 March 2012

Week 10 theme - Monochrome Tones

This is the look I got when I asked The Dude to press pause on the PS2....It's hard being so photogenic lol

Project 52 catch up

04 March 2012

Toy World
Week 6 theme - Chaos
Behold the chaotic world of toys.

By any other name
Week 7 theme - Pretty Ugly
Even though it's a bit rough around the edges, I still can't go past the simple beauty of a red rose.

Magenta Skies Week 8 theme - Simplicity
I take joy in the simple things in life.
This sunset was so beautiful, I simply sat and marvelled at the changing sky.
I love where I live.

P52 Week 5

06 February 2012

Week 5 theme - Get out from behind the camera

It's always the way, as the memory keeper for my family I rarely step out from behind the camera. I need to start doing it more, because photos like this are a true reflection on our everyday life. Simple memories that will last a lifetime.

P52 Week 4

04 February 2012

I'm a little late this week, but never the less, the theme for week four was 'Unexpected Perspective'.

My favourite food, from above. I love that it looks almost like fireworks.

P52 Week Three

20 January 2012

The theme for week 3 of Project 52 is Negative Space.

Not far from our house is a house with a little flower stall out the front. The flowers are always gorgeous. There's nothing I love more than fresh flowers.

P52 Week Two

16 January 2012

This week's Project 52 was Responsibility.

To raise two honest, thoughtful, compassionate, hard working, happy boys. This is my responsibility. Sometimes it's hard work, sometimes it's fun, but it's a job filled with love.

Remember you can keep up to date with Project 52 via my flickr stream.

Project 52

09 January 2012

Last year I embarked on a Project 365. I failed. I got to day 247 and got distracted by other things going on and just never got back to it. On reflection, I think I got board. I didn't always have much time to put the thought into each shot like I wanted to. I also lost my way with inspiration, I felt like I was capturing similar images all the time.

Anyway, this year I've decided to dial it back a bit. I'm joining in with the Paint the Moon - Let's Do 52 project. I'm a little late with my first entry (I hope that's not an omen) but here it is. This weeks themes were Share or Natural.

Day 20 : What I read
Day 21 : A Pretty Pattern

Day 22 : Trees
Day 23 : Sunset

Day 24 : A smile

Day 26 : Something Old

Yes, I did put a self portrait up for something old. I thought it only fitting after turning 30 earlier this week.

APC Day 17

17 August 2011

"On the shelf"

Not really a shelf I suppose, but our kitchen window sill does have stuff on it. It's mainly used to store lego creations out of Reggie's reach. There's quite a collection today, I think B-Boy might have forgotten about them.

APC Day 16

"What you ate"
Home made chicken fried rice.

APC Day 13, 14 & 15

"Close Up"

APC Day 6 & 7

08 August 2011

Been so busy this weekend that I haven't got around to uploading my pics. Here's day 6 and 7.

"Childhood Memory"
Some call them pluto pups, the yanks call them corn dogs, but I've always known them as dagwood dogs. Growing up in Brisbane, the highlight of the year was the Royal Brisbane Show aka The Ekka. We were lucky enough that Mum took us most years. It was THE best! Sideshow alley, the show bag pavillion, the animals, the demonstrations and of course the firework show at the end of each night. What wasn't to love? The most memorable part of going to Ekka each year was the food. We got to eat things at the Ekka that we didn't get anywhere else. Fairy Floss, Strawberry Sundays and Dagwood Dogs!
(I'll be back later this week with an awesome recipe to make your own!)

"Something New"
New paint job! More on that tomorrow too :)

Happy Monday my friends!

APC Day 2 & 3

03 August 2011

"Something you wore"

"Clouds"

Do you forgive me? I'm a little late but in my defense, I've had a vomity kid to care for :( He's on the mend now though. See you tomorrow night for day four!
